Winning

Something that helped me get into the idea of lawyering was joining my highschool's Mock Trial team.

It was something that just dawned on me before my Junior year. I was just pondering along and decided I'd give Mock Trial a shot because of a mild interest in the law. It was all down hill from there. I became addicted, which, I guess, considering the alternative options for addiction, could be an up-hill transgression. Regardless, I joined the team, which had historically been fairly successful and learned the ropes of public presentation and trial etiquette, while playing a witness role.

Anyway, that was a tangent. Long story short, I joined the team and learned how to kick ass and won quite a few awards and became a captain and a starting attorney for both sides (teams switch between plaintiff/prosecution and defense depending on the trial).

Yesterday we had our 11th trial of the season, and the 10th trial (one unscored scrimmage) that was scored by some form of jury. It was also the 10th that we won. 10-0. That feels pretty good to say. That means we'll be progressing on to the District Semi-Finals next week, and then with any luck, the District Finals.

All we do is win. Hopefully.
